Project “Cilona”
The
Ferri’s farm collaborates with the Project Cilona,
it intends to reintroduce in a protected forest (Fragneto) the
common turtle (Testudo hermanni).
is planned introduction of the ten copies each year
for 5 years.
The turtles are tracked by microchips.
Already reached the sixth year of operation, Sunday 19 April
2009 will be held the event "Cilona day." The initiative fits
within the project "Cilona" which is to reintroduce into a
suitable habitat and limited number of copies of Testudo
hermanni, the so-called turtle town, in order to ascertain their
level of adaptation in a natural environment. The project Cilona
"was designed and created by nature conservation alterius, under
the patronage of Department Environment of the City of Ostuni.
The initiative is part of the III National Day of agriturism,
organized by the farm associated with Green Tourism - CIA and
Sunday will be open April 19 to raise awareness for the
hospitality, production and processing of company products. One
Sunday the discovery of the landscape, are proposed hikes, walks
of discovery, learning and cultural visits, tastings "guided" of
local products, visit the animals on the farm
